Not according to the Snopes Urban legend page:
Claim: The soft drink Dr Pepper is made from prune juice.
Status: False.
Origins: Dr Pepper doesn't contain any prune juice, but this rumor is remarkably long-lived, having been with us since about 1930.
The rumor about prune juice being part of the beverage's formula is addressed in a brochure put out by the company. "There are 23 flavors and other ingredients (none of which are prunes) that produce the inimitable taste of Dr Pepper." And that's it. No prunes, but they are keeping quiet about what's in there.

Ha, that reminds me of what I did to my little brother when he was young. I poured him a glass of Diet Dr Pepper and told him it was a new drink... carbonated prune juice. He took a sip (can't believe he did) and said "Hmmm... not bad. It almost tastes like Dr. Pepper" Ha! :)

yes, carbonated prune juice, one of my favourite soft drinks. It would make me crap if I found this out to be true. Oh well who are you gonna call. Call the Doctor

I believe it to be true. I know they bought the prune pits from the Sunsweet plant in a town I lived in.
