*The forests could be cleared out from time to time so the materials such as dead grasses and old wood that ignite so easily could be eliminated. The almost annual forest fires in California are so expensive and devastating that forestry management should be a priority.

I'll get off my soapbox now.

because the spread is a chaotic system, there are too many variables and if you have ever solved a many body problem you will know that the problem is not the technology but to know how and where it will move and spread, wind changes in a practically aleatory way so the complexity of the system makes it impossible to respond fast enough to extinguish unless you have a huge set of counter measures, and as you can imagine that requires a huge amount of money which means huge taxes.

there are especial air sucking bombs but still the area of effect is just not enough to attack the dimensions of the fires.

Because we are small and the fire is huge??!! the things that we can do is limited to our size.

one other way i can think of is to use a huge missile and fill it up with CO2. shoot it to the specific area and douse the fire. Dunno if that's been done
