It seems like the more we kill and maim in the execution of Bush's war on terra, the more terrorism spreads around the world. Since the invasion and occupation of Iraq, we have seen sink to lows that exceed the Vietnam War. Isn't a course change called for ?

A military response alone will not end terrorism, and a diplomatic political and social response alone will not stop the current crop of terrorists (whose goals and beliefs are so out there they might as well be aliens).
What we need is both a diplomatic/social response (to give peoples freedom and prosperity which should make them think twice about becoming terrorists) and a military response (to destroy the foul terrorists who have already made up their minds about killing innocents).

With all the diplomatic efforts of the past say...50 years directed at curbing terrorism can you cite me even one occasion that an extremist group said; hey, sure sounds good...we are wrong and should stop terrorizing people.
The Red Brigade, The Weatherman, Students for a Democratic Society, the neo-nazi groups, Bider-Mien Hoff and countless other fanatical/terrorist groups from the 1960's to today....not one ever quit with out physical (military or police) confrontation.
If you can advance a practical way to get these people to come to the negotiation table to resolve issues, great I support it. The current corp of terrorists don't care if they kill the innocent with their conception of the guilty, the soldier or the civilian....or even their own countrymen.
What is your solution....wait til they crash a few more jumbo jets into USA buildings and then give them what they want. That was tried with Hitler after he promised to stop once he took over Poland et.al. Perhaps you recall how that terrorist was finally defeated.

When will the masses learn, that if you pick up the sword, you will never never be able to lay it down! America has never in our history had as many enemy's as we have now! Why?
When world war 2 ended, the poor of the world was not up in arms against America, not even in 1984. What has changed? Why?

I think we should appease the terrorists by nuking Portland Oregon. Then they might be less inclined to sneak there own nukes in here and leave us alone.
