sending me mixed signals. He ignores me & insults me, but then he turns right around & hits on me. Just this evening he said that he wished he & I were still together. Why is he doing this? There is one thing that I need to make clear in the question. I have NO feelings for him. I just want to be his friend. Nothing more than that. I just want to know why he's doing this. Does anyone know or is this just one of the things that no one can figure out?

I don't know if this makes any difference, but when we broke up we just stayed friends, but then I decided that I couldn't take his crap & just stopped talking to him. then like a year later we became friends again.

He might be doing it just because he thinks he can get away with it. He might have a mental issue or he might just be a jerk. If you have no feelings for him, make sure that you aren't sending him mixed signals- make it very clear that you arent getting back together and if he contines to be a jerk, stop hanging out with him. You deserve friends who dont ignore and insult you.

well for one i don't think that any one should hit on anyone one and when he ignored you and insults you. please don't get mad about what i am about to say it is just reason i think he may be acting like a you know what.i think that maybe he don't care about you any more and is maybe trying to get you to stop talking to him or hanging around you.so he ignores you and insults you.i have a question for you when he ignores you and insults you is he around his friends?if that is the case then maybe he is showing off.or maybe some things have happen in his life to make him hit on you.girl what ever the reason maybe if he is going to hit you insult you and ignore you.he should not even get your friendship.i hope i helped you out a little.

Hun, he's just being a typical guy. This is what guys do when they're the ones who end a relationship. It has to do with their ego, but I'm sure he still has some feelings for you as well. I think he's playing these games with you to either a) try to get you to try to get him back, maybe he wants to see you beg him back for his ego or 2) he wants to keep you emotionally on a leash, as in by playing these games, he WANTS you to get confused so that you don't forget him or ever get over him, in case he ever decides to get back with you.

How long after you broke up with him did you try to be friends with him? You need at least a year apart before you try to "heal" and be friends again....sounds like he's thinking he's still got a chance.....an ex of mine knows I can't stand him, and yet he still thinks he has a chance with me.....I had to cut off all communication with him.....he kept calling so I had to threaten harassment charges......some people never learn.....

he doesn't like you if he ignores and insults you. the only explanation i can think of if he does this and then turns around and flirts with you is that he wants to be with you physically and that's it. i personally wouldn't give this guy the time of day and i wouldn't want to be friends with someone who insults me. good luck.

Men are just as complex to women as we are to them. We just prefer to not announce it to the world that we don't understand them. We can control them much easier than they us, so that does make it a bit easier for us, but that doesn't make them any less complex. This is the whole "Grass is greener senario" he wants what he can't have so he is doing anything that comes to mind for him to get it.
