LOL!! I seem to have this same problem!
But the truth is, its actually impossible to only be gaining weight in your butt and no where else. People will carry their weight in different places, so that it why it may be more noticabley in you booty, but you are actually gaining weight everywhere. Its impossible to only loose body fat in one place, because your body uses and stores fat evenly. so, the best way to "get control" of your booty is to start making some healthy eathing choices.
You didnt mention anything about your current eating habits... So i will just give you a few tips.
If you drink soda, you should switch to diet soda,,, or better yet, water. I know poeple who have lost ten pounds or more just by doing this one thing.
Try to eat more healthy food than sweet food or junk food. look at the nutrition facts on the back while choosing what to eat and choose food that is high in protein and fiber, but low in sugar and fat. Also, try to focus on eating whole grains insteadt of white, refined products. It tastes alittle nuttier and its more hearty, but you will get full faster and therefore eat less then you would otherwise.
Go for walks and try to do something active (try to make it something fun!) every day or every other day. even just twenty minutes helps. Excersize will tone your body... give youa more shapley butt, and help you get more energy and sleep better!
Also, you might be eating too much food because your stomach is stretched out from eating too many big meals. Stomachs do that if you constantly over-stuff yourself. A handy trick is to go for 2-4 days where you make sure that you eat only small portion sizes (it doesnt matter what you eat) a few hours apart. make two fists and put them together to see about how big the portion sizes should be. and, give your stomach time to digst the food you put in it before eating again... in just a few days of this, you will notice that your stomach has shrunk back to a smaller size because you will feel full and satisfyed after eating that smaller portion of food than you probably did before. A smaller stomach fits less food, that means that you end up eating a LOT less calories total because you get full sooner. This is a way to help yourself diet without feeling hungry!
The best advice i can give though, is to do all of this stuff in moderation. do NOT EVER count calories - it leads to obsessive behavior and will drive you crazy. Also, dont create a list of "forbidden foods". Ice cream, chocolate, sweets and fast food are perfectly okay (not healthy, but okay) if you eat them in moderation. Try your best not to eat sugar every day of the week, but if you want a little, go ahead and have some. A few bites of chocolate is not going to bust your diet... in fact, it may just help you stick to it and make it possible to stick it out because you wont feel limited and deprived.
Oh, and try your best not to eat out of bordom or any time you are not hungry. If you aren't feeling hungry, your body probably doesnt need the food, and there fore it will get stored right where you least want it - your butt. :)
Well, I hope this helps you out! I have tried MANY different diets and methods of loosing weight in the past, and through trial and error I have found something that really can work, and makes it easy to maintain your weight. If you keep all things in moderation, you will not feel like a deprived dieter, and you will be able to keep your sanity while loosing weight.
Hope this helps!

Stop putting a full fork in your mouth.
Or, you may want to try eating Soup with a fork instead of a spoon.
