i when to mc donalds and asked for a beefburger and the girls said sorry we only sell hamburgers and i said what meat to you use and she said ''beef''

Some kind of dish including a beef patty originated in Germany. German immigrants brought it to the U.S. and the rest is history.
Why would you call'em 'beefburger' when the suffix 'burger' derives from Hamburger anyway?

because they can call it what they like! the rubbish that is in a 'hamburger' i would not feed to my dogs! they contain all the bits of the animal that are otherwise thrown, for good reason. make your own beef burgers and know they are what you made them to be, beefburgers!
