It depends,is the inmate in a federal prison or state prison ?
Just do a search for the state the person is in or search the federal inmate locator.

Go to the state's DOC and go to inmate search on it then you can type in the inmates name and it should bring it up... there may be several with the same name but it u know their DOC # that would be helpful.....
