Why not have them make cards for a local Sr. Citizen Care Facility or even make cards for the teachers at the school. Teachers are so under appreciated these days they will appreciate the cards. Also, why not let them learn to share something that they may struggle with at home or at school and they can write them down to remain anonymous and everyone can share their ideas of how to work out the situation. You might be surprised at how well they can help each other.

Have them cut out sets of questions that the family can chose and answer at dinner time when they get home.
