Old cat lady has alot of experience....I love her! There are many reasons why a cat begins this kind of behavior besides needing to be SPAYED (do it asap, please!) Something is bothering her (like HORMONES) & she is trying to tell you about it. Infections, pain, fear, changes in her environment, a dirty litter box, tons o' stuff! & yes, they do choose interesting places to get your attention. My little girl peed in my bed & pooped in my roomate's shoes!!!!! & not just once!

Your cat may very well be in season and marking her territory. Get here spayed asap before the spraying becomes habit. Clean the sprayed/wee'd on area with vinegar, this wil neutralise the odor. Do not use ammonia based cleaners, this will just encourage her to keep going. Make sure her litter tray is clean as well.

no idea as to why, but their are products out there like Feliway which is a cat pheramone that basically you spray where you dont want her to go, and it says to the cat "i dont go here anymore" of course it would have to be sprayed for about 2-3 months to make sure it works or that the cats get the hint. it is pretty inexpensive, and you can find cat pheramone bottles at any pet store like petsmart or petco. And just to let you know, spayeding cats does not stop them from spraying. best of luck to ya!

As many who have replied before me have stated you should spay this cat. My two female cats exhibited this behavior and many more erratic and strange behaviors. They began "marking" on myself and my fiance, they would straddle his legs with their butts against his shin as if they were attempting to get his "attention." Then it got worse we lived in a third floor apartment and would allow them out on the balcony. They began jumping that three stories down for tom cats. They would rip or bust out the screens in our windows to get out. I thought they were just "weird" kitties. Last night one of them had a stillborn and mangled kitty. I wasn't even aware she was pregnant as she just escaped in July and is barely a year old. She is now very ill and may die as I cannot help her and do not have the means to get her to someone who can. I advise for your sanities sake that you fix all your cats they meow so loud, and they do "weird" things, but they are trying to tell you something so listen before its too late. I wish I had done so.

Either she is in heat. But I would think you could tell that she is as female cats meowww and try to get out. Probably if shes not in heat then it is a bladder infection causing her to pee in places she shouldn't. take her to the vets ASAP

She might have a bladder infection or other health problem. Cats usually start peeing on odd things/places when there is a health issue.

For goodness sake, spay your cat--for you & for all those potential little kitties. Cats who have not been spayed can exhibit all sorts of strange behaviour. They go into heat frequently, & it's very distressing for them.
Foget your dishes! Please do get her spayed--you'll both be a lot happier.

She is in heat and "marking" to attract a male. There is only one solution. Do you need to be told?
