Sounds like you've done something? If it's recent, wrap it with a ace bandage and wear it most of the time. Do you have pain? Does it hurt all the time? If you have sharp pain, you may need to get it checked. If it is swollen, you can ice it, take some ibuprofen.
I recommend ace bandages alot, as they are great, it all depends on what you've done. Knees are pretty resilient and will normally heal up in a couple of days, but pay attention to how it was hurt, and don't overload it again this way.

It would hurt, or bleed. If either of these things are happening, go see the doctor. If it hurts get ice on it right away. You might need an x-ray or maybe even surgery.

You may have swelling, and/or not be able to put weight on that leg. Elevate and put ice on it. If you continue to have problems, see a good orthopedic doctor.

Trust me, you would know. It would hurt like the dickens. It might swell or lock up on you. There are very obvious signs.
