There are many vestments in Catholic liturgical dress.

- The foundational garment is the alb, a baptismal robe worn by altar servers and acolytles. It is also worn underneath the other vestments by clergy. The belt that fastens the alb is called a cincture.

- a Deacon will where a "dalmatic" - a tunic worn over the alb, trimmed in the colors of the season - purple or blue in Advent, red at Christmas, yellow at Easter, etc. Over the dalmatic, a deacon will often wear a stole draped over the shoulder. Priests wear a stole as well, but they wear theirs around the neck and draped in front of them.

- Priests and bishops wear something called a "chasuble", which looks sort of like a poncho in form, but is in bright colours (usually) and fine cloth. When you see a minister on TV with arms and front covered in a colourful cloth, that is a chasuble.

- In addition to these things, some bishops wear something called a "pallium" which is - sort of like a tie in that it is worn around the neck, but it is a rounder more subtle garment than a tie. Only archbishops, cardinals, the pope, and some bishops specially granted the privilege, get to wear this.

The hat is called a "miter" and is worn by bishops or abbots. The staff you see in the hands of a bishop or pope is called a crozier.

By liturgical vestments are meant the vestments that, according to the rules of the Church or from ecclesiastical usage, are to be worn by the clergy in performing the ceremonies of the services of the Church, consequently, above all, at the celebration of the Mass, then in the administration of the sacraments, at blessings, the solemn recitation of the canonical hours, public services of prayer, processions, etc. The liturgical vestments of the Latin Rite are: the amice, alb, cincture, maniple, stole, tunicle, dalmatic, chasuble, surplice, cope, sandals, stockings (or buskins), gloves, mitre, pallium, succinctorium, and fanon. The pope has the most elaborate and the greatest number of liturgical vestments, for all the vestments mentioned belong to him. The vestments of the priest are the amice, alb, cincture, maniple, stole, chasuble--vestments which the priest wears at the celebration of the Mass--then, in addition, the surplice and the cope. Besides the vestments worn by the priest the liturgical dress of the bishop includes also the tunic, dalmatic, sandals, buskins, gloves, and mitre; those of the archbishop include further the pallium. The subdiaconal vestments consist of the amice, alb, cincture, maniple, and dalmatic; those of the deacon of amice, alb, cincture, maniple, stole, and dalmatic. Finally, the lower clergy wear the surplice as a liturgical vestment, a vestment that belongs to all the grades of ordination.

The vestment worn around the neck (like the priest in the Excorcist) is called a Stole. The white one that is worn over a black cassock is called a surplice. As for colours, black for funerals and other times of mourning. Purple for Advent and Lent, green for ordinary times of the year. The outer garment worn during mass is called a chasible, and like the stole, the color is according to the time of the year.

Man, I can't believe I know that.

You mean the anti-christian symbols with the upside down cross? or the one on some of the thrones the pope sits on, or the wafer who is supposed to be God?

I believe they're called vestments. Purple for Lent or Advent, White for Easter. There are more colours than this, I'm sure.

Can you specify your question? Clarify, please, in notes?
