They can't arrest you unless they read you your rights and that they had probable cause to arrest you. Nowadays, that can be for any reason they see fit.

There's no such thing as an "illegal" arrest, but an unjustified, baseless, unfair, and/or unreasonable arrest, yes.
But, did he ask for your identification and find out you had outstanding warrants? Did you do or have anything that could be construed as illegal? Was the driver involved in some sort of criminal activity that would cause you to be detained with him until everything was sorted out, i.e had drugs, weapons, open containers, involved in a bank robbery? Was the car involved in an illegal activity and the driver and you had no ID and so the officer couldn't establish ownership?
If he had no reason to detain you other than you were a passenger in the car, and absolutely no reason, then this can be beat in court, if it even makes it that far. But if there was something else going on that you were either directly or indirectly involved in, you can be detained until just cause is or is not established.

Your question is very interesting, possibly the body in the backseat was the reason you were arrested and that would be an illegal arrest if in fact you did have your seat belt on. But then again if the Body was not wearing a seat belt then it would be a legal arrest because it was your responsibility to buckle the body. However, i would recommend that you plead not guilty because it may not have been your body in the back seat.

No not for having you're seat belt on. But if their was something illegal in the car and you happened to be there then yes. So if nothing illegal was in the car and you did not mouth off and the arrest was only made because you had you're seat belt on then yes it is an illegal arrest.

What was the charge you were arrested for? If you were arrested for not having your seatbelt them yeah, but most states wouldn't arrest you for that they'd just give you a ticket and a written promise to appear. If you were arrested then there has to be more going.

Depends on what you were charged with. If you were charged with a drug offense then it would not make any difference if you had 10 seat belts on!

You were arrested for having your seatbelt on? Highly unlikely....... There is more to this question than you are providing.
