My mom wont let me go trick or treating with my friends. I kind of accepted it in the past but now that i am 13 and in 8th grade i want to go with my friends unchaperoned. When i was in 11 in 6th grade my mom wouldnt let me go with my friends (they were allowed to). So i ended up bringing my little brother and mom along.

What can i do to convince her to let me go with my friends? She says she and my brother have to come with me and my friends

its really embarrassing

she knows how i feel (talked to her about it many times in 6th grade)

my mom knows my friend and her parents very well

the reason she doesnt want me to go is because she doesnt want someone to kidnap me. She thinks that since i am young some idoit would kidnap me when s/he opens the door or as we are walking

maybe you can reach a compromise here.................have her follow along the route your friends are taking so IF you need an adult to hand you have one close by, and really 13 is still a little young to be strolling around going up to house's in the dark maybe your mum has looked at how many 'bad, unsafe' people live in your area and just wants to keep you safe.

tell her trick or treating is what babies do. I in no way went trick or treating because it has no which ability and it makes human beings fat with the sweet which isn't needed. Dentists ought to love Halloween from each and every of the cavities childrens get. i'm 13 and that i imagine the idea is truly stupid, dressing up in some ridiculous way for sweet. i visit't trust childrens my age nonetheless go. that is embarrassing....

Having fun is all your choose! Have fun with your mom and brother!!! That also shows how "grown up you are", and she might let you go alone with your friends next year. But making a HUGE deal about her going with you, only makes matter whose! Oh, and I am also in 8th grade! So this is not coming from a mom or dad. Just an 8th gradier who has gone though these things.

Aren't you a little old to be trick or treating at 13? Why don't you ask your mom if you can have some friends over for a supervised Halloween party instead?

Will there be an adult chaperoning? If you can assure her that an adult will be present with you then she may give her permission. Give her the phone number of the adult so she can verify it. You are lucky to have a mom that loves you so much that she wants to keep you safe from harm. You aren't the only 13 yr. old in the world that suffers thru this. It will pass as you get older and demonstrate your how responsible you are.

yeah, you are getting kinda old to trick or treat. Maybe invite some friends over and make a haunted house for halloween for kids to walk through and get candy. THat way you can still dress up and have fun.

I think you are a little old to be out trick or treating. There are generally Halloween Parties for teens. With chaperons. Perhaps your Mom will let you attend one of those.

Have you tried discussing your feelings on the subject? Maybe it is an idea to discuss with her what does she think the ground rules should be for you to go trick or treating without her but with your friends. Is there any friend that she does not know or met their parents? It could be a factor too.
