Tough question; I usually have the same problem, so I just go to the salon that's won the most recent award and tell them what's my personality like, and say that they can do my hair what ever they want-just tell me how to do it when you're finished, and what are you going to do with it. If you have any specifications (like no mohawk) tell them that too, and see what they suggest.

I know you don't want a mohawk but this is a cool style- grow it just a little longer on the top than on the sides- don't buzz the sides, but keep them just ling enough so they'll comb back. Then when your hair is wet take some gel and comb it towards the middle on both sides. So it's kindof like a mowhawk but spikier and more wild, but without the drastic haircut. Way cool!

Follow these steps:
1. Place bowl on hair.
2. Cut any hair that hangs below bowl.
3. ENJOY!
LOL! This look worked for the Beatles so don't knock it. I'd like to see it revived. Why not start with you. Before you get angry, remember, you asked! LOL!

My brother had the same problem, get it spiked up on top and for the bangs you can get them spiked out too, I did that to his hair and all his friends got jealous. It's an awesome hairstyle and the girls LOVE it because it's the "look" now. It's a really hot hairstyle for teens.

Go to a good salon and look through the books there of popular styles to get ideas. You can mix and match the ideas you get from these books to fit your own personality.
