As a parent that had a son graduate Law School and daughter graduate college ..both in May this year..I can tell you that it is very important to fill out the FAFSA form and send it in. The financial aid office at the college of your choice also has many sources available to guide you. Do NOT be afraid to apply to private colleges and universities, they have loads of endowments and scholarships available that they love to give away and we love to accept. If your parent works for a company that awards scholarships, that is also a good place to look. Local civic organizationa also awaard scholarships and in outr area we have an Electric Cooperative power company that offers scholarships. From what I have heard DO NOT PAY one of those scholarship finders places to look for you. You can get the information with a little bit of work for free. Good luck and Happy Learning.

Here is a list of resources for college grants and scholarships:

http://www.fafsa.ed.gov will help you tap into federal financial aid and college financial aid from the institution.

High school guidance office provides a list of local scholarships offered to its current high school students.

College financial aid websited often list private organizations and companies who offer scholarships.

Spend time at free membership scholarship listing services. Just never pay to apply for a scholarship.

Remember every penny found in scholarships and grants is one less penny in the form of a loan. Do not be afraid of applying for private scholarships.

Good luck!
