I would say that violates the Family Medical Leave Act or the American Disability Act. Either way...see a lawyer for an opinion.

No, you can not. Not as a federal employee, unless you are Active Duty Military. They can give you a medical discharge if you are military, but, if you mean Federal, as in postal employee, IRS, etc, no. You should be covered under the ADA. And the only reason that they would try to discharge you from the military is that if you are a Rapid-Cycling BP like me, it is (literally) dangerous to have you in a position of responsibility with other troops.

As a federal employee....they probably belong to the American Federation of Government Employees Union....and should contact them for employment advice. If the reason for dismissal is solely BD...then the union will back them in getting back their job or getting compensation.

Yes. You can be released from Federal jobs only for mental disabilities. Anything that might mean you leak a secret.

Probably depends on the job. Not all federal jobs are created equal.
