Well said., I don't think you are going to get much appreciation for these observations. I think the US had hidden agendas and motives from the beginning. The US troops are doing what any colonial army does. It serves the interests of the mother country.
While they are so busy fighting for freedom overseas, Bush is trying to create a police state at home.

(1) This isn't a military question, much less a question of any sort rather than crude grandstanding.
(2) The greatest threat to the personal liberties of all Americans is not some foreign leader or military power, but the ignorance and apathy of cowards who haven't stood a day in their life for the values enshrined in the Constitution of the United States call themselves Americans.
I don't hate your kind, Questioner; you haven't had an original piece of self-serving slander since Michael Moore came out with that autobiographical movie about a fat man who believes he's a moral champion. It's just tragic you'll never stand for an authentic sentiment in your entire life here on earth.
People risk death across oceans and beg for the chance to serve in our military to defend the values of the Constitution, and here you are born to the greatest experiment in democracy on earth, wasting the opportunity to serve and be heard as a voice of true conscience. What a waste.

Our military is doing what they have to do - they serve our country and have to go where they are told to. They are fighting to stay alive and help their brothers stay alive.
I agree w/you in the fact that our govt right now is misusing our resources and our military in ways that seem to benefit their "base." At the very least, the men & women serving over there should get stock in that oil for all the b.s. they are putting up with. Time to bring them home, I don't think another 5, 10 or 20 years or 50 yrs. will make a damn bit of difference. It's an unsustainable situation overall - human beings need peace of mind - our military personnel are not being properly appreciated.

I dont think one soldier in Iraq or Afghanistan wakes up in the morning and says, "hey, another day to fight for wealth and power for the elite. I love my job!" They fight for their brothers in arms, their families, and for a better way of live for themselves and their country. War is a necessary evil. No matter what you believe. Its their mission to make not just their own country safe, but to make the world safe. If you want to lash out at someone, the politicians are the people that start wars. The all VOLUNTEER US Army are the ones who put their lives on the line and dont ask questions. They all have my utmost respect and admiration.

You're ungrateful, ignorant and, apparently, anti-American.
Let's take a look at a couple of your "examples" from your question:
Iraq II:
FACT - The official US policy to remove Saddam from power was initiated in Bill Clinton's last term, almost 7 years after Bush Sr. was out of office and before Bush Jr. was even running for President. How is that a "vendetta of the Bush family"??
Afghanistan:
FACT: This country was literally a training center for Islamic radicals. Where better to strike against terrorism after 9/11 than their base camps?
I assume you purposely left out Kuwait - as the web sites you frequent can't really explain why, if oil is our objective, we just didn't keep Kuwait after we drove out the Iraqis.
How can a government put into place BY THE PEOPLE be our greatest threat? Wouldn't we, the people, be our own greatest threat in a democracy?
Note: You also left out Korea and Viet Nam - but then there is no oil or other valuable commodities in either of those places, just oppressed people, so, obviously, they wouldn't be very good examples to use in the www.hateamerica.com sites.

I have 2 questions for you....
Where do you think the US would be without it's military??
Have you ever served in the military?? Have your ever served more than just yourself??
I'm guessing you haven't. Everyday, the military protects what we have whether it's on our own soil or in a foreign country. If you haven't noticed, since we've taken so much action against Al Qaeda, we haven't been attacked on American soil again. You need to wake up and do a little research. Instead of insulting the very establishment that's given you your freedom of speech to say what you think, no matter how wrong in this case, you should be thanking them.

Sounds like your Freedom of Speech has been pretty well protected by over 225 years of US troops fighting and dying for freedom.
Clearly your only association with US troops is the conspiracy bulletin boards and video games. There hasn't been an active draft in this country for over 30 years; and I support that.
But if I may use my freedom of speech, it's too bad you can't be drafted. Then you might understand what the troops really fight for in terms of freedom. You have made the fatal mistake of confusing US troops and politics. They are not the same.

hey jackass do you remember 9/11 you commie bastard? let me remind you 3 planes crashed into the world trade centers 1 and 2 , 1 plane crashed into the pentagon and one crashed into a field in Pennsylvania.over 3000 innocent Americans died that day.over 1million men and women make up the united states military not because they are forced to because they want to.they want to see a better future for there kids and others. they want to keep America free.
Also get your facts straight in desert storm the mission was to get Iraqi forces out of Kuwait and to protect the oil fields from militants trying to burn them.
operation Iraqi freedom to take Saddam outta power who has killed over 300,000 of his own citizens. Operation enduring freedom in Afghanistan the mission is to suppress Taliban forces and catch bin laden.
And just to add something jackass go to Arlington National Cemetery and tell a family that there loved didn't die for freedom or go to a retirement home or find a veteran and tell them they didn't serve to keep America free but for drugs and oil.

First of all, your question is somewhat biased, but you are absolutely correct in your observations of our recent military action. Yes, every military action we take has a hidden, "corrupt" agenda, but its been that way for the past 100 years. Big buisness is the american government, not the figure heads in Washington. Its a long chain to the american people (who supposedly have the power in "democracy"). First its big buisness, then our three branches of government, then the media, then its the american people. Unfortunately, the american people are so manipulated by those at the top, in a sense, they have lost their power. They are taught to recite the status quo because it gets them approval. You can see that in many of the answers above/below mine.
To those who say our troops are "fighting to protect us," might I remind you that we were not attacked by Iraq, we were attacked by Al Qaeda (who happened to be in Afghanistan). Iraq was the first time in U.S. history we attacked a country that had not attacked us or our allies first. The question in no way imply's that our military is unnecessary, nobody is suggesting that we don't need a means to protect ourselves. Its just that our military actions as of late have been for $$$$ and power. Not "freedom." Freedoms have been limited as of late becuase of these wars.

Where do you think we would be if we didn't fight back against Bin Laden and Al Queda. Kneeling in prayer 5 times a day most likely under muslim law with NO freedoms. The Bill of Rights would be gone.
You forgot Haiti and The Balkans or were those noble because Clinton was the president.
