most christians beleive that to have other gods, idol worship, taking the Lords name in vain, disobeying their parents, murder, adultry, stealing, lying about their neighbors, and coveting are sins.but when it comes to the fourth commandment they beleive it is not applicable.the only answers i will consider are the ones that do not contradict Mt 5:18,19,Mt 24:20, Ja 2:10,1Jn ,2:3-4, Rom 7:12,14, 1Tim 1:5,8, Rom 13:10,Rom 8:4. please notice i used only new testament scriptures to back up Gods Law. i could actually include about 100 more

Keeping the Sabbath Day holy is not observed by many Christians. They go to the store, watch all kinds of tv shows, and basically treat it very similar to the rest of the week (except perhaps going to church for an hour or so). However, there are some Christians that do a very good job of honoring this day and making it a day of worship.
Others argue about what day the Sabbath actually is. I don't think there is some Cosmic force that says one day is better than another. The planets don't line up on Saturday or Sunday, they are just days picked based on our Roman Calendar. So I don't think it matters what day it is, just as long as long as the community can worship together and recognizes it is a day to honor God, not man.

If a christian's salvation depends upon his keeping a certain day, surely God would have told us. At one point, the apostles gathered specifically to discuss the relationship of believers to the Law of Moses. Acts 15:5-11, 24-29 was God's opportunity to make His will clear to His children. All He had to do to save millions from damnation was say, "Remember to keep the Sabbath holy," and millions of Christ-centered, God-Loving, Bible-believing Christians would have gladly kept it. Instead, the only commands the apostles gave were to "abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things stragle, and from fornication."
There isn't even one command in the New Testament for Christians to keep the Sabbath holy. Infact, we are told not to let others judge us regarding Sabbaths (Collosians 2:16), and that man was not made for the Sabbath, but the Sabbath for man (Mark 2:27).
The apostles came together on the first day of the week to break bread (Acts 20:7). The collection was taken on the first day of the week (1 Corintians 16:2). When do Sabbath-keepers gather together to break bread or take up the collection? It's not on the same day as the early Church. They tell us that the Roman Catholic church changed their day of worship from Saturday to Sunday, but what has that go to do with the disciples keep the first day of the week? That was the Roman Catholic church in the early centruies, not the Church of the Book of Acts.
If those who insist on keeping the sabbath were as zealous about the salvation of the lost as they are about other Christians keeping the Sabbath, we would see real revival.

Christians are not under the old law. Of course, there are groups today that still believe we are. This is such a tired argument.
All of the commandments of the law are covered under the grace of the law of Christ by LOVE. There is no honor given to any sabbaths to the christian.
Since you think you obey the 10 commandment literally, why don't you obey them in the way that they did under that law. For example why don't you administer the punishment to your members for not obeying those laws? The penalty for most was death. And why just the 10 commandments of the old testament law. Why don't you continue with the sacrificual or ritualistic elements of the law? How about all of the other sabbaths? Do you still honor them?Haven't any Seventh Day Adventist or Ladder DAy Saints children disobeyed their parents? Didn't God COMMAND you to stone them to death, ACCORDING TO THE LAW? ( Thank you Jesus for the GRACE)
The Jews do attempt to continue under that old testament law. They seem to be doing a far better job of keeping the old testament law than any others.
When we become a christian we understand Paul when he says:
But now, after that ye have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in bondage? Gal 4:9
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years Gal 4:10
I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. Gal 4:11
Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; Col 2:14
NAILED TO THE CROSS!
And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it. Col 2:15
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, OR OF SABBATH DAYS: Col 2:16
Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Col 2:17
Many people won't recieve Paul for what he writes here. But that's the nature of man.
I respect those that believe the sabbath is binding today, but I honestly don't see it from the scriptures.
God bless you.

I think you don't know what the sabbath for a Christian is.
The New Testament never commands Christians to observe the sabbath. The sabbath was for the Jews under the Mosaic Covenant. The sabbath is not something binding on Christians as Christ has already come. He is Lord of the sabbath. A believer in Christ has his sabbath rest every single day. We have our sabbath rest in Him. It is when you stop and contemplate what He has done for you and others. That is the sabbath we are to follow.
When you go to church on Sunday you celebrate the Lord's Day, a time for believers to get together in fellowship to worship what Christ has done and to celebrate the Resurrection which took place on the first day of the week. This has nothing to do with the Jewish sabbath day of rest from the old Mosaic Covenant. Christians already have their sabbath rest in Christ as He has already come. And the substance of which is Christ Himself. This is an important concept for Christians to understand.
Colossians 2:16-17
So let no one judge you in food or in drink, or regarding a festival or a new moon or sabbaths, 17 which are a shadow of things to come, but the substance is of Christ.

Most Christians obey the fourth commandment. To keep holy the Sabbath Day just means to go and worship the Lord and the rest of the day should be relaxing and enjoyable, which can be going to the store, watching a game on TV, etc. You shouldn't work because it's a day of rest.

According to Romans 7:1-4, none of the ten commandments are valid today. If we try to keep any of the Old Law we are committing spiritual adultery.
There are however some of commandments (9) that we are to keep today according to the Jesus. These are the commandments of Jesus not the commandants of Moses.
