We've adopted a pup that is a wolfhound/hound mix, but can't determine what the "hound" is. He is a medium dog (9 months and 55 lbs) but does not have the height of a pure wolfhound.

His coat is wirey and he is brindle (brown/back) and has a beard under his chin.

Vet thinks maybe part terrier....but what kind?

Any ideas on what breed of dog is medium/large, long tail, wire coat, beard and brindle?

Likely from a mixed background - most wolfhounds have fluffy hair. You may get some good suggestions here - but ask a vet - they are really good at picking out breeds.
