I have two female dogs. One is 9 months old and just came out of her first heat last month. But now my other one(1 year old) is in her 2nd one. My problem is that the first one seems to be in heat again! Do female dogs sync up like humans? How long should this last?

They have both been to the vet and he says that they are fine. I was just curious and the vets not taking stupid questions right at this hour.

Yes, female dogs absolutely do sync up; however, two heats only one month apart doesn't sound good. You should make sure this is a normal heat cycle, and if it doesn't seem right, have a vet check her out.

no, they shouldn't "sync up". What are your nine month old dog's symptoms? If it is a discharge, it is possible it is pyometra..which is a uterine infection, which can and is many times deadly. It requires medical attention and spaying asap.

Well, that seems very unlikely, but it can be harmful to your pet, so you should take it to the vet for more care.
