Can any Mormons (or others) produce any historical proof to support the claim that in the early centuries, the Church was Mormon?

The Mormon church was the brainchild of Joseph Smith. They have or get guidance from God since the beginning of the religious group. My only issue is that if god has been guiding them, why has their beliefs and practices changes some 3600 times over the years. an example: they believed in polygamy but when the United States was about to vote not to let them into the Union, they changed their practice, or at least in public.

Too many changes and no real documentation other than the word of Joe Smith. Look thru the book of Mormon sometimes, it can be an eye opener.

Mormonism is an invention of Joseph Smith. There were NO golden plates, or funky 3D sunglasses.
