I'm allergic to dogs, too, but the amount of sniffing they will do should not really bother your allergies. They are going to sniff, not roll all over it.
I think that they would make arrangements to inspect another way if absolutely nec., but I agree that this would make you more suspicious.

I'm allergic to dogs too, and I've never had a problem with the dogs checking the baggage. It's not like they roll in your suitcase. By the time it gets to your destination if the dogs 'touched' it the fur would more than likely be knocked off in flight.
I am very allergic to dogs, so I think you're just being extremely paranoid or you're up to no good.

I doubt that the dogs sniffing at the outside of your luggage is going to deposit much fur if any on your luggage. Unless they find something and start rooting at your bags.

They are never going to believe that and will think of your bags as of particular interest since you are making an effort to conceal their contents.

You could always travel with a cheap suitcase leaving on the trip and buy a replacement cheap one for the way back.

If you are that allerigic, check with the airport authorities and see if a doctor's certifcate to that fact would be sufficient.
