It's a problem because dog food doesn't contain taurine. Without taurine, cats will go blind. It's something they can get in their natural diet, probably from mouse bones and such, but it's a supplement added to cat food. I'm sure there are other nutrients in cat food designed to keep them healthy... cats are carnivores. Dogs are omnivores. Cat food will be more geared towards a meat eater's diet. So yes, you should feed your dogs in a separate room, or just during certain times of the day and keep your cats away from their food. It's okay as a treat now and then, but they can't eat it as their primary food source and stay healthy.

Chicken Parmesian.... You would get boneless chicken and wash it, put about a half inch of veg oil in a pan and put it on med high for a few min.....then set up a bowl with milk and a egg mixed and some italian breading... Then you coat the chicken first in the milk/egg then the breading then 1 piece at a time fry each side of each piece for a minute or so... Then you put it on a baking sheet or a lasagna pan and put sauce on top of each... THEN you put some parmesian on top, cover loosely... 350 for 45 min. Take it out and add Mozzerella and put it in for 5 min. Then Done, you can add any kinda pasta for a side and i always make meat balls or gravey with meat with ground meat..in my meals theres a lot of meat and pasta...TRUST ME No one has ever turned this down..maybe bc i'm italian and grew up in my popops kitchen.,.... can't give you the recipe to the gravey though Good Luck!!!

Serve this hearty Italian soup with a salad, foccacia for dipping, and red wine. It makes 27 servings (just in case someone's extra hungry!)
ITALIAN SAUSAGE SOUP
INGREDIENTS:
5 pounds sweet Italian sausage
6-3/4 cloves garlic, minced
6-3/4 small onions, chopped
6-3/4 (16 ounce) cans whole peeled tomatoes
4-1/4 cups dry red wine
16-3/4 cups beef broth
1-3/4 teaspoons dried basil
1-3/4 teaspoons dried oregano
6-3/4 zucchini, sliced
3-1/4 green bell pepper, chopped
1/2 cup and 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
3-1/4 (16 ounce) packages spinach fettuccine pasta
salt and pepper to taste
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DIRECTIONS:
In a large pot, cook sausage over medium heat until brown. Remove with a slotted spoon, and drain on paper towels. Drain fat from pan, reserving 3 tablespoons.
Cook garlic and onion in reserved fat for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, wine, broth, basil, and oregano. Transfer to a slow cooker, and stir in sausage, zucchini, bell pepper, and parsley.
Cover, and cook on Low for 4 to 6 hours.
Bring a pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Cook pasta in boiling water until al dente, about 7 minutes. Drain water, and add pasta to the slow cooker. Simmer for a few minutes, and season with salt and pepper before serving.
