What do you mean society? Why is society responsible for you. Have some self-respect. Quit living off the hard work of others.

It was your choice to have 4 children in your situation. Reality has to set in at some point and you have to realize that you can't expect to make the money to cover the bills that large of a family would make. A child by the time they are 18 costs over $100k and a box of condoms costs less than $5. Do some simple math and figure out a new budget.

the same way that they expect a single mom to support one child on 234 a month.

for some of us, it wasnt a matter of choice. i have had to have welfare twice and it was no picnic either time. the first time, my son was very sick. he spent 16 days in the hospital with the first 12 days, them not thinking that he would live. after he got out of the hospital, he had to have a pic line for almost 3 months. nobody wanted to be responcible for that, so i had to stay with him until he got better. im not asking for a medal, it was my choice to stay with him to help him get better. the second time was when my older two were older and the smallest was 7. i was waiting for social security and for a workmans comp claim that took too long. the only money that i could draw that time was 234 a month. if it hadnt been for my mother, we would not have had a roof over our heads. try that for a feeling. working all your life and getting hurt and not being able to work and then being forced to wait to go to court for a settlement. social security came in first, but we went almost two years with absolutely nothing.

for one, welfare is not supposed to be a long term thing. its to help you until you get on your feet, until you can do something else. and who is to say that you need to have an abortion after your first child. to me, that is murder. there are some women who cant take birth control.

the thing is to try to be set up at least halfway before you start thinking about fun and games. parenthood is not always a bowl of cherries and anybody that thinks that it is is not a parent.

life is what you make it. its your choice what you do with it. and what you make of it. society isnt here for your convenience.

This country doesn't give a crap how you're able to scrape enough together just to buy some formula and diapers! America is a capitalist country... which means dog eat dog. If you can, get someone to watch your kids and get financial aid to get an education. A degree will fetch you more cash per hour. Then, if you're lucky enough, you can either succeed here, or move to Canada or some nice European country who's government will probably have better health care and public assistance. Just remember, America is only concerned with taking your money, not giving it to you.

Rather then be unfair and judgemental like others I relaize some women find themselves alone after a spouse or partner walks out leaving them with children to raise.

First make sure you get support. Second talk to your case worker for assistance about getting into a training and or college program. If you don't know what you want to do for a career ask people if you can observe them at work and find out if it is something you would enjoy doing.

Stop worrying blaming and just feeling sorry about your situtation today and make some goals. First should be figuring out a basic budget, it isn't easy but ask for help from churches or friends and you can find a way to make it work, Next decide what you want for a career and if that will provide enough for your family.

My mother found herself alone with 3 girls after almost 15 years of marriage. She was the first in the state to ever fight for education options while on assistance. She enrolled in the votech program at our local HS and got the school to allow her to ride the bus even to and from the votech school and took its LPN program and in two years without being away while we were home she got her nursing degree and went back to work and was ale to provide for us.

It was very hard, alot of times we had nothing except a roof over our heads but people saw my mother trying so hard- working part time while going to school they helped readily. People help those they see helping themselves. We made it.

She also instilled in her children a very valuable lesson, you can only ever count on yourself to get ahead and it takes hard work and dedication.

No one ever said life was easy, even for those born to wealthy families there is always struggles to overcome, its defining yourself and your goals regardless of the hardships that allow you to get ahead in life.

Good luck to yuo and your kids, I hope you find a good program and eductaion so your situtation improves but only your drive will determine your sucess and your kids.

when did she start caring about society? after she had her Fourth child? She cares only about herself and not much about all those kids. well at least numbers two three and four. If she really cared about number one she would not have had the others so i guess she doesn't care about any of them. society tried to help her out by educating her but she did not listen she did not learn and now she is suffering the consequences. It is a never ending cycle of people not teaching their children and placing the burden on the ones that did listen and learn a paid attention...

i have no idea. they just don't understand what the home life is really like for some people. for example, my mom is a teacher in new mexico. i'm 15 years old and have three brothers and sisters. if it weren't for my dad's good moods here and there when he feels like paying child support, i honestly think that my mom would've had to file for bankruptcy. but on the other hand, she doesn't really manage her money and time well. even if you're well off money wise, if you can't manage your time and money, you'll have a lot of debt.

You will never get better pay until you get yourself some education! This would have been advisable before you had your 4 children of course. It isn't only single mothers with children who find life hard. It is the case for many sections of society.
