We work together at an independent clothing design company, it isn't a very business-like enviroment. We've become casual friends, but I really do fancy him and I'd like to see if there could be anything between us.

Ask them while being like a friend. Like," I got two movie tickets wanna watch it with me?" or something like that. Act like a friend when you ask him.

Personally I would not date a co-worker. If something develops between you later, or if things don't work out, working together will be awkward. Many companies discourage co-workers from dating, and I've even heard of some people being fired if their company finds out that they are dating. Don't take the chance.

ok i have converted a collegue into a bf and it lasted about 18 months so was well worth it.

I invited him to loads of things - group events or just casual drinks for 6 months unti lhe plucked up the courage to kiss me ! Pathetic one may say - romantic others but for me it was worth perservering.

So m advice invite him out loads as friends and let him make the move on you, if he likes you and you open up the avenue he will ask you out or do what my ex did which is passionately kiss me after a friend told him he wld be a fool to not grab me before i got swept away by his competitors!

Good luck

Might want to re-think that one. Sometimes dating a co-worker is taboo because.. 1. might be against company rules. 2. if you both hit it off then it goes sour, are you willing to get a new job? 3. can you handle the idle gossip?

Just give it a thought and think about it throughly before making a decision.

But to answer your question.. just ask if you feel that you can handle the added pressure. Worst thing he/she could say is no. Good luck!!

its all in the intonation; do it as an off hand remark if words ain't it 4u, u could write a coupla notes to him b4 u slip him the suggestion.

or

pretend you're really hungry & you don't want to eat alone? but that might work too well & he'll just think he's just a 3rd wheel after u & ur food.

it might help if I said i'd feel quite good if a girl asked me out 2 lunch 4a change, guyz do all the work- good on u 4 tryina b proactive; or iz it cuz he'd never do anything otherwise?

During a normal conversation, ask him if he's doing anything later that afternoon/night or during the weekend. If he says no and asks you, then say no also. Then ask him if he'd want to grab a cup of coffee or lunch or w/e. He'd probably say sure and then you guys could have a good long conversation. Good luck! =]

Like others have said, it may not be a good idea.

But if you insist, try starting off by asking him out to lunch. Make it casual and friendly.

Don't go there peeps. You have to work together and if there is a problem which starts to interfere with work believe me you will be the one that gets the push not him

Ugh, this is just a bad idea... you work with this man and things could become horribly uncomfortable if things don't work out.

You could ask him calmly and leave him alone for the rest of the day. Let him think about it. If he doesn't answer, then ask why the next day. Um. . .or oyu give him a e-mail??
