Well i really prefer a female because males can pee every where and the females, but what i hate most about the males is that if you have a metal door or something they can pee on it and it gets all jucky

We have two mini schnauzers, one male and one female. I think I like male dogs better because our boy mini is pretty easy going, although he doesn't seem too bright (but we love him so much). Then we got our girl mini and she was quite the little aggressor at first, an alpha female, you might say. Now she's much calmer and fitting in the family just fine. And yes, we love her very much, too. Which do you prefer?

As a person who has so far had two male dogs: FEMALE!!
My first dog was fabulous but this second one...
definitely female, though I'm talking about the non-neutered ones, not a practice to neuter them in my country.

It's personality and intelligence that I look for.

I've had two incredibly smart dogs in my life. The first one was female and the second one was male. I look for a dog who wants to be with me, versus somewhere else. I want one who is curious.

I have both male and female pets and I generally do not prefer one over the other, the key for me is personality, i don't care what color or gender, its personality that matters most to me.

Females. Males are typically roamers and have a long range when they pee. Plus - females multiply!
