Any rational sane person knows that whether it is the Buddha or the Christ or Mohamed or guru Nanak were all born of women into this world. They taught people certain things while they were on this earth and then left. They were selfless, compassionate and dedicated.
After they passed away the ordinary men with the usual fears, desires, cravings, narrow-nindedness, anger, Jelousiness and attachments took over to organize the devotees or their children and siblings to follow the path they decided to set. That is how religions originated. They did more bad than good. For e.g. the catholic clergies of the 12th Century. When ordinary human beings play the role of the Messiah, Guru, or Teacher then hell gets let loose!

You might say religion has caused a lot of bad - and you might be right. Religion is man's way of trying to reach God but never really coming close.
I am not religious - I am a follower of Jesus Christ - a Christian - there is a difference. I believe that true followers of Christ do a lot of good - the world without Christians would truly be a sad, bad world - I think.

Religion.Well no,i didn't cause anything so far. In my perspective, people are using the name of their religion for their own misbehave and destruction. Religion is merely a guideline, i don't see anywhere in anyone's religion to teach them to go fighting with each other, not even in satanist bible (forgot the name sorry). Though some of the guidelines may be a lil bit harsh ,we could use our own mind to determine what is right and what is not.

Bad..much more than good. Religion has killed more people throughout history than any other reason. This, by the way refers to Judaism, Christianity, and Islam extremists. The Israeli tribes were the first group to declare war "In the name of God", the Bible promotes slavery, and Christianity has enslaved many people through colonization.

ORGANIZED religion has caused far more damage to humanity than it has contributed. If Judaism, Christinsanity & Islam never materialized, much of the world would be far happier. And I make the clear distinction between Christinsanity and the teachings of Jesus Christ; the latter taught ideals opposite of the former in most cases.

It is not this world that pre-occupies the minds of the religious, but rather the hereafter. Still, we should all focuse on bettering the world, and helping the needy, as this is a commandment from God. In the end, PEOPLE are the root of their own evil, and goodness and mercy root from God. Peace!

Ignorance causes more bad than good. Reality is, even in
warn torn countries. The majority of people are just EVERY
DAY PEOPLE. Trying to get by, and they aren't bothering anybody.
