Most of the answers to your question will be "No". These answers will be short. However,If you analyse
the facts of history, objectively, without bias, a rare quality among the faithful, you will find out that religion isolates groups of people into categories. That is the first step of separation and later hatred, and later war. The Jews were the first people to believe in one God and were considered outcasts for that reason.
The Crusades and the Inquisition, which caused everlasting hatred and separation among societies and countries, would never have happened if it was not for Religious zealots.
The great scientific discoveries during the Renaissance faced immense opposition from the Church, such a the Galileo affair.
Currently we are witnessing the clash of civilizations, largely based on religious fanaticism.
Religious leaders seem to convey messages of condemnation and separation , rather than acceptance. The Pope, although misquoted, provide a good example of the state of mind among religious people.
If we were all concentrated in the pursuit of improvement of living conditions, instead of promoting and imposing religious beliefs,
the world would be a better place.
Today, stem cell research in this country is suffering because of Evangelical pressure. And on and on....

Yes! False religion of course. Most worship God the way they want to and not the way He wants. IT SHOWS in the fruitage of the modern day church..watering down the strong messages that are clear and neglecting to mention those that all of us need to hear. What we see today is a confused class of leaders and blind followers. What is wrong is being stated as right and right is wrong. A form of devotion and proving false to its power Paul said.
A total house cleaning is on the way and has begun in many countries. See the Book What does the Bible Really Teach. Great foundation for true worship.

"Religion is a solace to many people and it is even conceivable that some religion, somewhere, really is Ultimate Truth. But in many cases, being religious is merely a form of conceit. The Bible Belt faith in which I was brought up encouraged me to think that I was better than the rest of the world; I was 'saved' and they were 'damned' — we were in a state of grace and the rest of the world were 'heathens' and by 'heathen' they meant such people as our brother Mahmoud. It meant that an ignorant, stupid lout who seldom bathed and planted his corn by the phase of the Moon could claim to know the final answers of the Universe. That entitled him to look down his nose at everybody else. Our hymn book was loaded with such arrogance — mindless, conceited, self-congratulation on how cozy we were with the Almighty and what a high opinion he had of us and us alone, and what hell everybody else was going to catch come Judgment Day." Good question. The world would be a better place if people could agree to disagree and become more tolerant of each other's differences, be it religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation, social standing....

^ '4 me nope'...I think that pretty much proves the ignorant, selfish ambitions that are behind all religions...Get what you want after death for your sense of comfort and don't give a fluck if the rest of the world gets a real hell on earth.
Religion is the ONLY way to get people to throw there lives away without any real benefit to themselves...selfish politicians best weapon against opponents. w/o it war would be eleminated b/c no1 would want to risk there lives if nothing mattered to them after there death.

You should read the book "God Without Religion." As a retired Catholic, it really opened my mind.

Ask a Eukranian where Joe Stalin systematically starved 20,000,000 of them to death back in WWII. There is a country without religion.

You should do some research into what would not exist if not for religion, in particularly Christianity and the Catholic Church.
Start with studying who started the first universities, hospitals, orphanages......
