I've never been in this situation before. Normally, I'd just say f*** you and leave, but we were friends before we started dating. How can I preserve our friendship, but still let him know I can no longer date him?

call him. write him a letter and tell him what u have told us. Tell him that u don't want ur friendship to end but u can't go out with a guy who just cheated on u. Try to be gentle cos u want to keep ur friendship. Good Luck!!!!

My ex-boyfriend cheated on me and got the other girl pregnant while we were together. I broke up with him on Valentines Day last year.
I really don't understand why you would want to preserve a friendship with someone who obviously has deceived you. Its best if you tell him the truth that you know he cheated and that you know longer want him in your life.

First, I'm not sure why you would want to stay friends with a cheater - ex-boyfriend or not. But, if you must.............I'd just say " Bob, I'm really disappointed in you. We've been friends for so long and I've really enjoyed our special relationship but now that has to end - I hope we can become friends again so that I can restore my trust in you".

He cheated on you, how can you trust him enough to be a friend? You don't need to resort to foul language to break up with someone, you simply tell them you no longer want to go out with them. Resorting to foul language only puts your own intelligence in question.

dont lose the plot and start abusing him, only brings you down to his level, just tell him you know he has cheated on you and you cant trust him enough to date him, why you still want to be his friend I dont know since he obviously doesnt respect you enough but thats up to you

tell him straight up - hey we are friends and I care about you but you are cheating - tell me why. Then let him explain. Go from there - you make the decision on YOUR next step.
