Children of mixed races aren't children of different species. They don't stand any greater chance of birth defects or any other problems than children who are born to parents of one race. Regardless of our various cultures and races, we are still human, made up of cells, tissues, and organs. Biology is universal.

In some aspects there is not much more chance BUT when the two diverse races mix it can bring some otherwise unknown traits not usually found within the individual groups.

For instance sickle cell trait [which my husband has] and the other one that the name escapes me but is mainly related to middle eastern groups again is a blood problem.

As for birth defects I would say that it is only down to genes and race would play very little part in it.

Medically speaking....

There is no known increase of any medical conditions in children of mixed race... However... they are now of 2 races and diseases that seem to be previlant in a particular race is also present in mixed children as well.

As far as white and filipino? None noted..

How ever let me give you an example... sickle cell anemia is a disease that attcks predominantly the black race... so if a black person and a white person have children...sickle cell anemia remains a concern in that child.

But there is no known disease that attcks children of mixed races only... they are however the product of all medical possibilities of 2 races...

I don't believe this question was asked with negative intent, at least I hope it wasn't. I like to think all people are good... sometimes I'm disappointed... but most of the time I'm not...

I hope I was helpful....

BTW, I have mixed children.... very healthy too!

No they don't it would turn out the same as usual.

I knew a child that was 1/4 black 1/4 Japanese and 1/2 Arabic. She turned out to be a well rounded individual and tall and beautiful as well.

No,
birth defects comes from many other things. not just because the parents are mixed.

No, of course not. I know quite a few mulatos and other children of mixed races and they are all normal, functioning, wonderful children!
