What was the charge? Obstruction. If so, that is what it seems you did. But if they arrested you at the station when your son was already arrested, you can get arrested for disorderly conduct. What were the charges?
The editor is just doing his job. Whether he exagerated or not. This is just the first time you have ever felt how it is on the other side. Instead of reading about them, people are reading about you.

If lies about you were printed, that is slander and you can sue. You'll have to prove the statements were false. You are witholding numerous details, despite your anonymous status. I suspect you are not sharing information that would present this situation more objectively. Get a different lawyer if you don't like the first one's answer. If the 2nd gives you the same answer, just sit down and take it.

Your lawyer seems to have the clearest perspective and understanding of the situation. In the future, when the cops are making an arrest, do not enter yourself into the situation.

If your son's arrest was uncalled for, then let the judicial system and his lawyer sort it all out, and if/when he gets acquitted, you can sue the state for unlawful imprisonment, defamation of character, etc. But since you stuck your nose in it, you belong in jail as well. That's why people need to learn to mind their own business.
