If you intend to keep your bluish gray couch for awhile then I would paint the wall a gray that has blue tones, they do have a gray that cast off some blue, then on that wall I would hang a nice picture that shows off some other accents in your room, hopefully you can bring out some reds, burgandy, orangy or some bright colors that you may have for your accents, You will need some colors that pop out in the picture though.

With dark brown wood furniture you should stay away from darker colors.
Go with something in a pale or misty color, but nothing "heathery" since it looks dull.
Since there is bluish grey in your sofa I would suggest a blue that is extremely pale or try this.
Step 1: Paint the entire wall dark blue.
Step 2: Using three sponges: Sponge on bright white leaving small patches of the blue.
Sponge on pale lavender in equal spaces apart.
Sponge on pale blue, carefully, to cover most of the
other colors but leaving enough of the others
so they are still visible occasionally.
Step 3: Coordinate curtains and throw pillows to compliment the paints. Add a
coordinated decor set to accentuate the colors behind it. Choose a print,
a pair of sconces, a shelf and a few collectables, like a figurine and you are
done!
To save on money, make the curtains and pillows yourself. Go to thrift shops, flea markets and yard sales to get the items to hang on the wall.
I do this all the time and almost everyone who sees my home for the first time think I had it done by a decorator. They're usually speechless when they learn most of my stuff came from yard sales! They especially love my painted walls for my bathroom. I used the sponge technique, added gold "veins" for a marbled appearance and chose my colors to complement the theme of hummingbirds I collect!
Choose your favorite pieces and coordinate the colors from them or paint, then coordinate your collectibles to the colors.

You might not like my answer but, I don't think you should paint it a different color than your other walls. I think that fashion is out of style now. Why not choose another light color and paint all the walls, including the wood wall. You could paint a cream color or a very light shade in the color of your sectional. Also depends on what color carpet or rugs you have.

There is a color called "Naval" by Sherwin Williams. Web site:http://www.sherwin-williams.com/do_it_yourself/
Click on the color visualizer and paint a few walls to see what you think. I put "Naval" on one wall, the wall behind the sofa, leaving the other walls white. The room also had dark wood tables. Looked pretty good I thought. Check it out.

If your sectional is not on the wall that you want to paint then paint it that color. Otherwise you could use a peach or a yellow color. You do not want to use dark colors because it tends to make a room look smaller.

well if you want an earthy home cottage feeling then paint it a shade of brown i would go lighter then your tables do like a darker beige to med...
if you want to go modern then go with an electric blue or red
if you want just a nice feel to go with the bluish grey a sage color light seablue would look nice compementing the dark wood and bluish grey...
other options that would work nicely would be
any light color of a current colors... grey lighter shade would go nicely as well! even an off white would look good! keep it more open!
the one i'm for is a lighter shade of brown... and do any boarders in a bluish grey color (if any)
Mad luv

Okay. You didn't say what style of furniture you have, but I'll assume it's not colonial since you have a sectional. There are a few colors you could work with and it's really hard to say without knowing really what your living room looks like, but if you do to Benjamin Moore's website, you'll find the colors that are really hot now. So here goes nothing since I've seen nothing: I like the idea of a really nice cranberry red. Another color that would look really nice and quite zen would be to go with silver.... you wouldn't believe what you can do with silver nowadays... anyhow, if you show us some photos, it would really help. You can always email me...

I would go with a blue-gray satin finish just darker than your sofa. Or go flat finished navy-ish to match your blue sofa but much darker! Then you would have the darker blue, browns, and sofa blue. You could use silvers and grays to accessorise with. Also a little green. You might paint the 3 white walls with off-white later to warm up the room later. White and blue and gray are cooler colors. Best wishes and I hope it works out great!

a light old Rose would look good , If you paint it dark it will bring the room in and make it appear smaller and cozy. Make it a light Grey or old rose and it will look larger.
