Absolutely yes. The whole idea of going to the pub in my opinion," is to have a few pints and talk bullshit with whoever wants to listen" , those who take pub talk seriously should stay at home as they are missing the whole point ( no pun intended ). It ( having a pint or whatever your preferred tipple ) is intend to be a form of relaxation.

I have thought for a while that other people in pubs stare more than they used to, they listen in on your conversations.

So yes, I feel really uncomfortable in pubs these days. Its not that I discuss anything outragous, I just don't feel I can discuss anything anymore.

Well, everyone else is being banned. Wont be able to enjoy a ciggie with my pint in a pub soon.... thats too offensive, apparently.

if people are overly PC then this in its self can be offencive and patronising..
my locals are not PC, although there seems to be a lot of PC's around at closing.
