My Pit isn't fixed while my Basset is. He tries to "hump" him also. I clap my hands loudly and tell him no and he quiets but later that day he's back at it. My dogs have plenty of water and food. Please tell me why and what I can do to end it. No funny stuff please!

I had a german shepard male and a rottwiellermale hump on each other all the time. The Rot was humping the German, then the German humped the Rot. And even though you didnt ask for this information (sorry), I just had to tell you that they cant get anything out of each other, so just let them do it. In the privacy of your home, whose going to know it but you anyways? Unless you have kids, then thats another question we have to answer on Yahoo!answers. (smile) Just let them do the dang thang. Its not going to hurt. He is just trying to get his rocks off. Its better the other dog, than your leg (Ya feel me?)

I think he is trying to clean him. And I have seen dogs of the same sex try to fornicate with each other, they don't really know what they are doing. I wouldn't worry about it, but get your pit fixed.

If your basset is fixed then you have nothing to worry about. Let them have all the joy they want knowing that there's not going to be any PitBull/Basset pups
