I know this is weird, but why do they prohibit kids from getting close to slot machines just by watching it even tho they're not gonna play the actual game? I mean, they have gambling on TV and on the internet where kids can surely watch it anytime, what's the difference?

IT'S NOT ABOUT SLOTS. NO ONE UNDER 21 IS ALLOWED IN THE CASINO AREA.THAT IS STATE LAW. CHILDREN WILL GET BORED AND CAUSE A PROBLEM WHEN THEY HAVE NOTHING TO DO.MONEY IS ALSO A FACTOR WITH REGARD TO AGE.MOST CHILDREN DON'T HAVE MONEY TO GAMBLE.EVEN IF THEY DID, CAN YOU IMAGINE WHAT WOULD HAPPEN WHEN THEY LOSE? THE CHILDS' PARENT CAN NOT WATCH THEM WHEN THEY GAMBLE,SO THEY WOULD BE UNSUPERVISED.NO PERSON RISKING THEIR MONEY WOULD WANT TO BE DISTRACTED AND MAKE MISTAKES IN A CASINO! CHILDREN CAN WATCH GAMBLING ON TV OR THE INTERNET, BECAUSE AT HOME THEY CAN'T CAUSE THE PROBLEMS I HAVE JUST DESCRIBED.

Because some parents think its fun for their kids to watch and the casino wants to show the children gambling is not really a game

I think it is ridiculous that kids cannot gamble at all. I mean the games in the arcade(not video game, but the "prize games") aren't gambling, they're just stealing from kids. With table games at least the kid would have a chance of winning.

If you're close to the machine, they'd have to sit there and watch you until you leave, otherwise it would be too easy for you to play. It's much easier to just get you away from the machine altogethre.

Its only because of legality issue. Casino do not want to become liable because either accident or other issue that can arise by allowing kids play accidently. and beside that casino would like to be not against the ethical issue.

Exposure can often lead to imitation. Why did they ban cigarette advertising in sports? If a kid grows up in a house where people smoke, he is many times more likely to smoke than one who grow up in a smoke-free home. It's pretty basic psychology.
