You should never, ever wait a few weeks to treat heartworm, it is very serious...It can cause the heart to explode if left untreated!!! Get her to the vet ASAP!!!!!

Vets do wait to treat heartworm, usually until the dog is settled in and in the best condition to cope with the treatment.
How often is the dog throwing up? My puppy did it a couple of times when i first got her home, but hasn't since.

I can't believe the vet sent you home with a dog suffering from heartworms! That is insane! The poor thing could be dying, and I'm not being dramatic. It is a very serious thing and could be very easily fatal. These worms literally live in the heart and destroy it.

Bright yellow vomit for humans is bile from the liver or gall bladder. There is nothing else that looks similar to it. Take your dog to the vet right away. Liver trouble is not a wait and see if it gets better sort of thing. Your dog is in need of professional attention.

It could be a result of the heart worms, strange surroundings, food she isn't digesting correctly. I'd call the vet and ask. Heart worms can be deadly.

yellow vomit is bile. Any change in diet, environment etc. could cause intestinal upset. contact your vet if the vomiting gets worse or is accomapanied by diarrhea etc.

I would call your vet immediately. They could be having an allergic reaction to the medicine.........or...they could just be sick....the important thing is to ensure that she doesn't get dehydrated. Call the vet first thing!!
