OOOOOOHHHHHHH I LOVE this question!!
Now let me qualify my answer by saying - I am trusting you are BOTH over 18???
Age shouldn't matter at all. I can understand how it would bother you. But when it is all said and done, there are much more important things to worry about. My grandparents were 10 years apart in age.
My best friend is 8 years older then her husband. She broke up with him 3 times before they were married because she was worried about age. Finally she realised that what was important was that they loved eachother, they had fun together, they share the same values and they want the same basic things in life. They bring out the best in eachother and they respect eachother.
Good luck to the two of you - I wish you much love, happiness and laughter.

You can't just ignore that it bothers you.
1) Ask yourself why it bothers you so much. Are you 28 and he's 18? Maybe are you feeling guilty because you are afraid that you're not allowing him to experience his youth?
2) TALK TO HIM--learn how to communicate. He deserves to know that you're uncomfortable with this. Even if it ends poorly, you both need to learn how to communicate.
3) LISTEN to him. You can't change the way you feel, but if he knows that you're a little uneasy, he could possibly try to make you feel better.

10 years isn't really a big difference. Then again it is. If your 51 he's 41 that's not big. If you're 31 he's 21 that is big, he hasn't been out on his own long enough. You'll find yourself being his mother rather than his girlfriend.

Is it his age your in love with? Is it your age he's in love with?
I didnt think so. My boyfriend and I are 5 years apart and we are soo much in love. Age is not an issue..its not about how old you are..its about how you both feel about each other...not each others age

I don't know how old you are but in my book age is nothing but a number. you can't help who you fall in love with. and if you both are happy then don't sweat it. or ask him how he feels. some guys love that older woman thing. all normal.

as long as you have the same direction, morals, and goals, it should be a prob. be upfront with him. this will be a learning experience for you both.
