i am so finicky about tuna fish. but i know i have to eat more of it. (it is the only fish i will eat) what are your favorite brands of tuna? which ones are the QUALITY? which ones are less likey to have bits of scales in them or an eyeball looking out at me?

I'm like you....canned tuna is the only fish I will eat.
I don't normally eat fish....I'll eat shellfish...but normally not fish because of the fishy taste.
I have found that Bumblebee "solid white albacore" tuna is the most solid white chunks of tuna meat....and has the lowest fishy taste of all I have tried...which is a lot!
I used to eat "chunk light tuna" because that was what my mom bought....but once I started eating the solid white albacore tuna there's no way I would ever go back!!

The tuna steaks in the pouch tend to bebetter than canned tuna. StarKist is my favorite.
For canned, I like Geisha Albacore Solid White Tuna in Water.

Me too! The absolute best solid tuna is at Costco their Kirkland brand. The
solid is actually solid not in large pieces like others! If you do not have a Costco you probably have Sams club which are the same.

Solid white albacore is the only way to go. I happen to really like Costco's Kirtkland brand, but I think the Bumblebee brand, again only albacore, tastes the least fishy--if, that is, you don't have a Costco store near you. FYI, packed in oil also reduces the fishy taste, but of course, it's in oil versus water packed.

I love Rio mare - it's a great quality Italian brand, but I'm not sure if you can find it in in US. Other really good brands are Croatian Dellamaris, Aussie John West and Spanish Consorzio...

ALBACORE : all white meat tuna
costs more than regular tuna but worth every penny and piece of mind.
