I think its well past its sell by date now. Although the majority of people still choose to follow a religion, i think as time goes by numbers will continue to decrease, and in 200yrs from now it will be a minority of people who are religious.

Take the gain to humanity in the unbelief not yet complete, but now largely preponderant, in the dogma that sickness, pestilence, and famine were manifestations of divine anger, the results of which could neither be avoided nor prevented. The Christian Churches have done little or nothing to dispel this superstition. The official and authorized prayers of the principal denominations, even to-day, reaffirm it. Modern study of the laws of health, experiments in sanitary improvements, more careful applications of medical knowledge, have proved more efficacious in preventing or diminishing plagues and pestilence than have the intervention of the priest or the practice of prayer. Those in England who hold the old faith that prayer will suffice to cure disease are to-day termed "peculiar people," and are occasionally indicted for manslaughter when their sick children die, because the parents have trusted to God instead of appealing to the resources of science.
-- Charles Bradlaugh (1833-1891)

you've of route by no skill heard of advent technology and are lacking in hassle-free experience and a choose for the reality. only fools trust what they are fed through the authorities and the media. in case you want to trust that you're not to any extent further something yet a descendant of a chimp then I easily sense large pity in the route of your naivety. search for advent technology and inspect each and each area of the argument earlier you p.c.. an aspect.

I don't know where you are getting your ideas, but there are not less religious people in the world, or a smaller percentage now. There are over one billion Catholics not counting all the other Christians. There are also over a billion Muslims.
The world will go away, but religion will not go away as long as people pay attention because God is eternal.

The religious beliefs of today will be looked upon one day with the same mix of fascination and amusement we now feel when considering the ancient religions of the Egyptians and Greeks.

I think religion is getting stronger worldwide, as it is a free choice now for most people, while it was forced on basically the whole world less than 300 years ago.

God will stand for ever. if there was a fallen away and god only stood with 3 followers against the entire world and satans demonds God would still win. God has promised he will put an end to man inhumanity. the signs of the times show that we are living in the end. and i am not a christian or spiritual. but I am not dumb either. read for your self the end time signs in matthew you will see what I am talking about.

Probably...and most will still believe in God.
It's unfortunate, however, that some are Xtian zealots...and they ridicule non-believers (violating one of the readings in 1 Corinthians!)...other religons...etc.
It's really sad...these radicals are giving people like me a bad name.
Good luck to you....
