I stay like this all day until night and then it leaves. I feel like I am going to go out of my mind. All I can do is pace the floors. The doctor has me on lexapro 20 mg and xanax XR 1mg. It seems to help a little bit but nothing completely gets rid of them until night. Does anyone have any ideas. I seem to have the Drs. stumped.

My first thought was excessive alcohol, but that doesn't sound like your situation.

Anxiety disorders are treated with xanax. Lexapro is an antidepressant. You might need to see a psychiatric medical doctor. Ask him about Haldol (haloperidol). If you pace the floors all day, you might have a tendency to be manic. A mood stabilizer like Haldol can calm you down. I take just 1 mg. a day, half morning, and half evening. It takes away that feeling that you have too much energy and want to explode, without sedating you. It's not a tranquilizer.

You should probably also get more exercise, both aerobic and lifting weights, to burn off your excess energy. Being tired will help. That's why your problem is better at nighttime.

You may want to talk to the doctor about changes in your medication. Panic and anxiety can also be exacerbated by any of these; smoking, caffeine, alcohol, drug interactions with other drugs you use (either legal or illegal), and MSG in certain foods.
Don't drink caffeine or alcohol 4 hours before bed. Try not to smoke too much before bed either ( if you do). Use night time as a relaxing routine- don't get yourself worked up with challenging projects, scary movies, or lots of computer games. Read a book, stretch gently, listen to quiuet music.
Eat bland, natural foods- fruits, vegetables, toast- nothing spicy or heavily processed ( TV dinners, frozen pizza, etc.) The best late night snack? A turkey sandwich and a glass of milk. HTH.

Maybe your shaking is a side effect of the drugs you are on!

Try hyponotism for relaxation or yoga.

If you are having trouble sleeping at night, take a warm bath and drink a warm glass of milk before bed. listen to some soft soothing music.

Go back to your doctor and ask him if it could be your meds giving you your symptoms! Maybe the dose needs to be adjusted or you need to be put on somthing different!

Are you having anxiety attacks at night while you are sleeping? That happened to me for a while before they put me on Celexa. I'm not saying its for everyone but I used to be really bad with a panic disorder too and it really helped. Talk to your doctor about a change in meds.

You may need a change in medication. Talk to your DR and tell them what is going on.
