Lee had repeatedly humiliated Norris during a mock sparring session in the hotel hallway at the Long Beach International Karate Championships. Norris had offended Lee when he publicly claimed to be a better fighter than Lee. When word got back to Lee, he called Norris and openly challenged him, threatening to drive to his school to fight (Norris was teaching his black belt class at that time). According to eye witnesses, Lee made Norris hold the phone receiver up and shout in front of his black belts, "Bruce Lee is a better fighter than me!" Later, Norris wrote an Apologetic Letter to Lee; the original is currently in the care of Lee's student, Dan Inosanto.

Bruce Lee really fought people and he was beaten by a master in Wing Chung. He also had no problems challenging notions, styles, and people. He trained realistically.
Chuck Norris has fought in several competitions and I would not doubt his fighting style. They were both in a movie together. The probably did have some conflicts. There was eventually respect and learning.
Both worked extremely hard and practiced a lot.
Silly, "did you know that Chuck Norris's tears can cure cancer? To bad he has never cried...EVER."

It is not that people don't know about this so much as people don't care (no offense intended). The majority of people in the US get their martial art knowledge from Hollywood movies ( Sad but true) as such they believe what they see. As there was never a movie made about this Americans would never research it.
Americans don't want to believe that martial arts require sweat, blood, time and dedication. It is amazing how many people come through the doors of our school and believe what they see on TV.
They want to learn to be "Walker, Texas Ranger" in one week.
The really sad part is that there are fraudulent schools that will sell these people the pipe-dream they are after.

Thats just because Chuck Norris astrally projected himself into Lees body so that he could fight himself (only way to get a good fight). Being that he's Chuck Norris he, of course, won and forced himself to make these apologies. He later went back into his own body and made himself pay for it. Theres a new movie coming out where he gets revenge on himself for getting revenge. It's called "Mullet of Pain".

Sounds like BS to me. Fighting in the hallway during a tournament would be dishonorable.

This story is one of the many myths surrounding Lee.
He and Norris were friend and trained together. Norris went to him to learn some of what Lee discovered as Lee was a pioneer in combining arts and techniques.
There is no doubt that Lee was an excellent athelete and martial artist but much of what we know about him is false.
His arrogant exterior was actually a stage persona, He was humble and gentle.
He had a severe LACK of confidence.
His fight with Wong Jack Man was actually just a light contact sparring match that Bruce blew out of proportion due to an ingrained inferiority complex.
Bruce was a drug addict and died from a prescription medication he was on. An autopsy found Marijuana in his system.
He had numerous adulterous affairs.
He NEVER had a SINGLE public match.
