You know how the garlic is clumped together with a bunch of pieces...so does a clove mean the whole thing or just one of the pieces?

A clove of garlic is just one small piece of the whole thing. Break off one of the pieces and take the papery stuff off it to cut up or cook it.'

1 of the pieces. And, I'm sure you noticed the pieces come in lots of different sizes. The whole thing is called a bulb. Have Fun. Anything cooked with garlic is wonderful.

Each piece is a clove. The whole "clump" is considered the bulb.

just 1 piece i dont think if it said 4 cloves you would want 4 whole garlics...the smell would probably come to here...cheers

1 clove = 1 teaspoon chopped garlic = 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic = 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder = 1/2 teaspoon garlic flakes = 1/4 teaspoon granulated garlic = 1/2 teaspoon garlic juice
