"Comfort Inn Edgewater" ($139)

This hotel is located right by the Hudson River overlooking Manhattan. There is a bus stop in front of it and take #158 (NJ Transit) bus to the Port Authority in Manhattan.

The Courtyard Mariott Hotel in Lyndhurst, NJ has a bus stop right in front of it that takes you into Manhattan at the Port Authority (42nd and 8th). The hotel next to it will be cheaper-The Quality Inn. And the third option is the Renaissance Hotels-Meadowlands, which is in the same area but the furthest of the three from the stop.

Call 1-800-NYC-Guide/1-800-692-4843... They give you a free guide with price of hotels and raitings and coupons attractions to see and such. They also give bus routes so you can pick which hotel to stay in. You wont regret doing that.

Most hotels will point you to the regular Mass Transit, or call you a cab.
