because a government that does not provide health care creates a society of wealthy who are healthy, and the poor who cannot get out of poverty because of mounting, and often unpayable, medical bills, which often result in early deaths for their elderly and children

Because the citizens are the foundation of this nation if more people had health care they could get the necessary care needed to prevent sickness and illness. People could hold down jobs and become more productive members of society. A utopia where people did not have to decide whether to eat or provide their sick children with mediction, we would live in a society where the elderly could afford to live in there homes and still receive medical attention. I see a world where young adults in their 20's did not have to suffer with ailments that could be treated easily by a doctors visit and a little medication, instead of waiting till it becomes so bad they have to go to the emergency room. These to me seem like good reasons to provide medical attention to everyone. We all pay taxes we should all be able to be healthy and free of pain!!!!

Since you are able to think why the shouldn't, let me answer why they should provide their citizen with health care.
1. To compete with other country on what the government provide to it citizen.
2. To attract the most valueable individual to migrate to one country who provide the most benefit for their citizen.
3. To show their citizen how the tax is allocated for their benefit.
4. To standardize healthcare to avoid monopolie by private company.
Well hope this help you!:)

In Australia we have Medicare this is provided by the government - with this we can see some regular GPs and have the whole bill paid by the government its called bulk billing - with other Drs who do not bulk bill you get a portion of your bill back from the government - it makes health care more affordable to lower income people.

They should cover everyone in the country who can not afford it.
It should also help with the cost burden to senior citizens who have paid their dues and have had the industry keep rising so much that they can no longer afford decent health care.

Because not everyone earns the same amount of money and does not have the same insurance programs. This was the industry is regulated and everyone gets health care, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Well, maybe if you use and exploit our bodies to fight your wars, pay your taxes, this that and the other, maybe some of what's in the kitty should be used for those who can't afford it. Without abusing it.
