Why is it that some people like to take their wives for granted. Could anyone, specially married women answer this question. I thought maybe Indian society is a little backward but it's much more worse over here in US what could be the reason ? I see all this happening and in future if circumstances change i don't want to spoil my wife's life. Could someone explain the psychology behind all this.............get's on my nerves. I want to help all those abused women in anyway i can, though i'm still 17.

I am actually a college graduate and now i will start campaigning for this cause. So dont't worry about my college degree and stuff. /i'm aiming for medical school.

Boy, u r so cute.
I think its all mutual; even wives tend to start taking their hubbies for granted after some time.
Wives've a worsen condition coz they ussually dont've a very active social life of their own so they kindaa depend on their hubby dah-lings 4 all the social stuff.
Moreover I tell u women r more dependent on their hubbies emotionally, than wat the guys r on their wives.
Not only this, women even 've a habit of brooding over things n make issues out of nothing so they strt nagging their husbands n this worsens the situation.
Moreover, guys 've sooo many options n wen they get a bit older, the options go on increasing n its just reverse in the case of gurls.
Hope so my answer appeals enough to u.
But, u r too cute - I'll pray to GOD tht u 've a happy married life.

Good Question but....
remember not all women are treated badly and it may interest you to know that the nomber of men being treated badly in a marriage is almost equal in a country like the US....
so look at the problem from both points of view....
Men do not face physical abuse in a marriage but women can runin their lives by giving them a lot of tension...

You are at an age when you are very confident that you can change the world.But slowly and steadily you will realise that you or any one individual what ever they may do can never change the whole world to their own way of thinking.You saw misery in life and reacted to it in a good way.But slowly you may realise that you can change the world only by changing yourself.So change yourself first and have the power to change the world.At the best you may succeed in making the world around you better.

people take thier wives for granted because the women let them. women don't stand half a chance in todays society. i mean, when 1 of every 4 girls and i do mean girls are raped or molested by the time they are 12 yrs. old and told by the media that they are not good enough because of thier size or looks and they are growing up with out mothers or fathers................how can they have enough self esteem and respect to stand up for thier selves? believe me, when these women realize they are worthy of love and are beautiful creations of God, they will stop the miss treatment and move on to bigger and better things. believe me, i did.

You are mentally little imbalanced, Sorry for this. Your bith is outcome of this factual. Be in the fact of life and strive for your carrier first. You are making your life a fuss rather a hellbound. Stop thing like the way you are in. If you change your attitude many will float with you and so on many and you will only do it for me. Good for you, im happy to see young people involved in important issues. Why you do husbands act like that you ask? Well not all husbands are like that, but for those who are, it could be for a lot of reasons : abusive father, culture, etc,

Live with someone and you will take that someone for granted. It's unavoidable. You get to know that person so well that you can predict his or her every move, every word, every little gesture...and predictability is death to a relationship that's supposed to have a sexual dimension to it.
