Although in the US, a ton means 2000 pounds, a metric ton is 1000 kilograms (about 2200 pounds). Every other country but US uses normal metric units, not the screwy pounds, miles, feet crap.

that is not a homeschooling question it is a homework question and it belongs in the homework help section.
Now, I understand you may be a homeschool student, but still you should categorize your questions based on what you're asking, not based on who you are.
You wouldn't expect to go the the gardening section and find only gardners on there asking questions on when to potty train toddlers would you?
Well, maybe you would but it is way to confusing.
