If you want to lose weight, try eating before sunrise a good meal. Don't eat or drink the entire day untill after sunset. Pray Five times throuout the day, and after sunset eat, but don't eat till your capped out. eat only 1/3-2/3 of what you can really fit.
Go ahead reat the Word when ever you like...doesn't have to be everyday. But Pray 5 times a day.
I can bet you will lose weight.

er, fasting is not the way to go about losing weight... not eating can cause bad things to happen to the brain, i saw this on TLC. a fat lady had the surgery to make her stomach smaller and as a side effect she wasnt hungry and couldnt keep food down. after the week was up she had brain damage. if you want to lose weight, DONT EAT JUNKFOOD and work out every day. drink plenty of water and eat stuff high in fiber! good luck! :)

In Bilbical times, usually losing one's head to a sword took off close to about 20 lbs.....
Fasting wont get you there. As you starve yourself, your body gets a clue. The next time you eat, no matter what it is, your body converts into fat, to be stored in case you decided to not eat for a while again. Try not fasting and not sitting around reading an outdated book. Go exercise.

God loves us and wants us to be free from anything that enslaves us. He doesn't want us to be a captive to anything: alcohol, drugs, pornography, gambling, or any other habit or addiction you can mention, including food.
The first step, therefore, is for you to ask yourself, "What is God's will for my life? What kind of person does He want me to be?" Don't just ask yourself what kind of person you want to be; ask yourself what God's will is for your life.
What is God's will for you? One answer is that He doesn't want you to hurt your health by overeating and being overweight. God gave your body to you, and the Bible tells us to "honor God with your body" (1 Corinthians 6:20). In addition, God wants you to be free from anything that enslaves you—for only then can you serve Him as you should. Most of all, God wants you to come to know Him by giving your life to Jesus Christ. If you have never done so, turn to Him and ask Him to come into your life.
Then ask God to help you deal with this problem. No, He may not take away your appetite (at least not at first). But He will help you in practical ways, by giving you wisdom to cut down on your food intake. For example, make a shopping list before you go to the grocery store—and stick to it. Most of all, seek your happiness from Christ and His people, and not from food.

In order to fast, you don't necessarily have to give up food all of the time. You would die. You can give up food one day, give up tv another day, give up the computer another day....so on and so forth.
