I see so many question on here that are asked like how do I tell them? What do I say about something to some one that honestly bothers you? Why can't people just say how they feel. And why do so many people want to wear their heart on the sleeve. Would you not want to know the truth? And please don't answer me ( you dont want to hurt their feelings) Give me some good stuff.

No, my jewel. I say that because people like you are impossible to find. Like a great and mighty walled city before the electric light. They used oil torches. On the precipice or brow of a high cliff or hill at night ... impossible to hide.

It's called humanity. Falled, failed, and failing. You take them one at a time knowing you can't change them. That's why we are individual souls and not one great joined living mass. Kudos to you.

A privilige, I assure you.

I like honesty, too. May I mention some steps in the life and development of a truth-seeker? One step is the ability to identify what is true and what is not in what someone says. Another step is to be able to deal with whatever level of honesty a person is comfortable with. Another step is to not make someone sorry for being honest with you. You have correctly identified one of the main challenges- what do you say when someone says something that really bothers you? My best recommendation is to withhold your reactive judgment against that person and say something they can hear. It is a matter of taking a tough stance with someone and building a wall between yourselves or taking a more moderate stance and possibly building a bridge between yourself and the person with whom you disagree.
That is not always easy. In fact, it's almost never easy, but all the hard things get easier the more you practice.
Now be a friend and remind me of this advice some time when I need it.

Some people are just looking for reassurance in the form of an answer, you need to spot the difference between the two types of people...those who honestly DO want an honest answer and those who just are just looking for an answer to make themselves feel happier about themselves...Being TOO honest at the WRONG time can be hurtful and rude.

Honesty is always the best policy and its not always easy to tell someone something they may not want to hear. My philosphy is if you dont want the truth then dont ask. Yeah it hurts some people but usually if they really want the truth, the figure out that what I tell them isnt meant to hurt or anger. Theres no real good way to politely beat around the bush. Either you tell them or you dont, try if you can to be tactful but aboive all be honest.

I love honesty. Despite the fact that I frequently get disappointed I am honest with other people and expect them to be honest with me.

I have found that honesty and truth are very unwelcome commodities in Corporate America. Subterfuge, manipulation and deception seem to be the normal behavior in today's business world. But then what do we expect when people say wrong is right and right is wrong?

The world is topsy-turvey and isn't in any hurry to get straightened out. So meanwhile, keep encouraging other people to be honest.

Me too! You have to understand that thepeople asking that kind of questions are teenagers and haven't been taught that honesty is always best in a breakup or relationship. The Questions I find particularly funny, and I just have to be blunt with are the little girls who beg, how can I make him love me?

"Truth is stranger than fiction". Old proverb, but true. Most find it easier to be dishonest rather than try to be truthful. Don't get me wrong. I agree with you. I'm just telling you how most people think.

I also prefer straight-up, honest conversation. Good questions from people who are asking for honesty. And esp. good answers.
I'm with ya, girl!
