First you run the bath water, make sure it's not too hot, or too cold. Add some bubbles or food coloring to make it fun. Get the bath toys ready as well as the towel. Get the kid, help them out of their clothes, and put them in the tub. If they need help to wash then help, and they'll most likely need help washing their hair. Let them play SUPERVISED for 15 minutes or so, then say it's time to get out of the tub. Help them dry off, help pick out jammies, and get their teeth brushed and go potty (real important). Then read them a story and put them in bed. I'd clean up the bath mess after that.
The kid should know his/her bedtime routine by now so all you have to do is go with it. Maybe they do something in a different order, no biggie, just do it that way. Hope that helps!

The answer to your question truly depends on the actual age of the child. Most parents have a routine in place, in my case my 2 year old takes a bath while my 4 year old gets to watch a movie (a totally BOY movie that my daughter would hate to watch) then my four year old gets in the tub while I comb my daughters hair and read her a story. when they are both in PJ's and in in bed I turn on some relaxing music and turn OFF all the lights in the house reminding them that its bedtime and we have to go to sleep so we can do all kinds of fun stuff tomorrow. Turning all the lights off and the TV off has always worked with my own kids and kids I have babysat for because they don't feel like they are missing something. If you need more mechanical bathing advice you should be able to google bathing a 2 year old. In reality as long as you don't get soap in their eyes or let them drown you should be okay. Good Luck!

We have a whole little schedule we go by with our two 2 year old children. As soon as dinner is over they get a bath. A nice warm bubble bath. With toys. Then after their bath we put them in their jammies. Then my husband and I wrestle with them for a bit. We run and play with them in the house. It isn't long before the little girl is too tired to go on and starts begging for bed. Usually around 8:15. If it is any earlier we make her stay up until at least 8. After she is bed, her brother calms down and watches about 30 minutes of some type of sporting event with my husband. Baseball or football or hockey or whatever the sport is, they sit and watch a little of it. Then he asks to go to bed in his room.

Get the tub ready with a little warm water. Not very deep.
Tell the child that it's time for his bath and then it'll be time to go to bed.
Get him undressed or help him do it and then help him into the tub. Stay with him so that you can help him soap up and rinse off if he can't do it himself.
After rinsing off, towel him dry and help him get into his pj's.
Read him a bedtime story, say prayers if he wants to and then tuck him in.
Say goodnight and turn off the light.
Leave the door open a little so that you can hear if he needs something before falling asleep.'

when your the babysitter, good luck!! every kid wants to push their luck with a babysitter just like the parents. when i had to babysit for 3 girls 2-7-8, while i was in high school. i had a hard time to get them to bed.plus do my home work and help them with theirs and stuff.
but routine is the best key. make one that works for you and the kids.doing the same that the parents do, dont always work. you have to make it your own with them. just like home daycare workers do for nap times and lunches(my mom has a home daycare) so make sure you have plenty of time to give a bath (warm one with lavender) get them in their PJ's and if you read them a book then do that in their beds with a small room lamp. try not using the big over head lights. if no little lamp then make it a little fun and use a flash light. less light the better. be firm when its time for bed. dont give in to much. then it will keep happening.(watch the nanny on TV) keep trying, it will happen. it does get better if you keep doing it.as the kid gets older it gets easier to.( if you stay watching the kid that long) have fun. hope that helped

Make the bath fun. Most kids don't like baths, especially getting their hair washed. So if you make it a game, it will be easier. Also, make sure you don't get soap or shampoo in the childs eyes. For naptime or bedtime, cuddle the child in your lap with a blanket and rock him to sleep, preferably with a story or softly sing to him. Good luck and enjoy yourself.

Put the child in the tub, bathe him/her. Read him/her a story, get them calm, and in bed. That is how you bathe and put to sleep a preschooler.

Make the bath a fun time for them. When it is time for bed tell them a make believe story with them in it. Don't sit on the bed with them but do sit on the floor beside them so they have to lay down to see you. At least that is what I did when I baby sat as a teen and then with my own son.

Well you just tell them its bath time and get a tub ready.
Put them in the tub let them wash up...playtime in the tub is a great way to get tired out.
Have them get out of the tub and relax for a minute. Then have story time and put htem to bed.

Specifically......
NEVER NEVER NEVER leave a child in the bath alone...for ANY reason for even a second.
Check with his mom on his schedule and patterns.
