Considering what carnage a drinking or drunk driver can do, yes, I support the DUI laws. There are several options other than getting behind the wheel after you've been drinking: Taxi, Safe Ride, Bus, Friend, Walk...

The DUI laws are to lenient. Have you ever seen what a drunk driver can do to a family. I have I'm a Fire Fighter and not too long ago a dad decided that he could drive to town although he had been drinking and he pulled out in front of another car and his daughter (6 yrs old) was killed instantly (decapitated). If you want to know the truth if your caught drinking and driving you should loose your license for life. You may have not killed anybody yet but neither did the guy I just told you about and that was not his first DUI.And the bad thing was that he was not even hurt. I could tell you about 20 more drunk driving fatalities but you probably don't care because you still think it will never happen to you.

The next time that someone is killed by a DUI suspect just ask the police if you can go along to notify the family. They won't let you but think about how that family feels. If you recently had a DUI and no one was hurt you should find that police officer and kiss his feet as you are thanking him. He may have saved you from killing someone in the next block which would have ruined your life as well as having had a major impact on the family and friends of the deceased.

They're totally fair! I actually think that every car should be equipped with an automatic Breathalyzer so the car won't start if you've been drinking; I know there would be ways to get around that, but I'm working on a DNA recognition program that would alleviate that problem....I'm such a mad scientist!

If anything, in my opinion, DUI laws should be stricter and enforced more. I feel I and everyone else on the road should know that we are as safe as driving can be and I don't have worry about being in a wreck with some fool who wouldn't let someone else drive.

Personally, I think anyone driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and who kills someone, should recieve the death sentence. It isn't hard to make plans for transportation after you have been drinking...there is no point in drinking and driving. If you can't afford a cab, you can't afford to drink. Seriously, do you want to take the chance of murdering someone just so you can have a couple hours of fun?

I believe that they are not strict enough, I have a Friend who goes out almost every day, not to drink beer but hard liquor, he gets so drunk that some times he can't even walk. But I do think that a Police officer should have a real reason to pull some on over.

I feel if a police officer knows someone is under the influence then they should act upon it at that time. (Like watching all these drunks come out of a bar or club and driving away) unfortunately this is entrapment and cops cannot do this... How many lives would that save if they could????
